We are celebrating Jasmine's birthday today!
Jasmine is all smiles with her balloons and flowers from Dr. Berry.
Yesterday we received these beautiful flowers anonymously. Each staff member had one rose personally addressed and a note, "Just something to brighten your day! - a patient". It certainly worked- it brightened our whole week!
Kristin spent some time Tuesday with the lovely ladies of Sunset Homes in Waterville doing Holiday Crafts.
Look how great they came out!
Another fantastic Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours - this time hosted by Amici's Cucina in downtown Waterville.
And a very happy birthday to Matt from Higgins & Bolduc Agency!

You can see in this before photo, this tooth needed a crown for several reasons. We can see a portion of the tooth has broken, there are micro cracks present and as well as a large existing silver filling. Dr. Berry and the patient decided to restore this tooth with a white crown that is designed for people who grind their teeth so it is very strong.
There are several options for materials for crowns including gold, metal with porcelain and very natural looking metal free crowns. Dr. Berry can discuss the different options and decide with you what would be best for your smile.

Honduras is the sixth poorest country in Latin America with half of the population below the poverty line so the need for any kind of medical care is very great in this area.
A school in the village of Taragual was transformed to clinic for a week where medical, optometry, dental, and pharmacy services where provided by a team of twelve to 2,000 locals of all ages. Many residents walked up to three hours to wait in line for care. This is the rainy season so it made traveling the dirt roads to the clinic even more challenging but with the nearest medical facility over two hours away by car, for many this was their only chance for any care.
Although the American Heart Association only requires CPR training every two years, the entire office renews our CPR training every single year so we have the most up to date information and are prepared to manage any medical emergency .
We also have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) onsite. An AED is an important for bringing the heart back into normal rhythm during a heart attack and preventing the damage to the brain and heart that a heart attack can cause.
